Meet The DT - Part 2

Our second instalment of our meet the DT series :)

Hi I'm Tammy and I live in Palmerston North, New Zealand.  I have two beautiful crazy kids who are aged 10yrs and 7yrs, three cats, two dogs and one very understanding and patient husband.  I have always had some form of art and craft in my life right from a very young age.  Papercraft however came into my life when I was on maternity leave for the second time.

I love doing a real mixture of crafts and love giving things a go – a lot of my creations end up in the local markets……it’s also how I fund my crafting habit.
When I’m not crafting I can be found either at the dance studio with the kids ( can’t dance to save myself but I love watching them), out walking with the dogs, running or playing soccer.  I’m apparently what is called an active relaxer.
I'm really looking forward to being apart of the Southern Girls Challenge design team!

Hi There!  My name is Tracy and I live in Victoria, Australia.  Yes, I live Down Under in The Lucky Country and I am ever so lucky to be married to the most wonderful man in the world, who also happens to be a pretty awesome crafting enabler too.  I have been creative for as long as I can remember and have tried many different crafts, from the traditional cooking & dressmaking while growing up, to pottery, painting, macramé and much, much more over the years.  My current addiction is cardmaking, with a little scrapbooking and some off-the-page projects on the side.  I started cardmaking a few years ago.  What started as a distraction from the aches and pains associated with being struck down suddenly with chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis has become an essential part of my life.  I love to create and learning new techniques and I look forward to sharing my creative adventures with you.  TracyM #6773

My name is Sabrina, I'm 36 years old and I want you company from Italy! I have a great passion for stamps and coloring ... I love rabbits and teddy bears! I hope to inspire you, I look forward to my blog

Hi my name is Dawn Turley and I live in Auckland New Zealand, where I’ve lived for the last 28 years.
I am married to a very patient man who puts up with my messy craft room (he’s a neat freak and I am not!)  We’ve been married for over 39 years and have two wonderful children and last year welcomed a little grandson to our family.  Our daughter lives over the far side of Australia in Perth so have only seen our little man a few times.  Our son lives closer so we get to see him more often!
I’ve been crafting in one form or another for most of my life, but took up card making around 10 years ago and haven’t lost interest or passion for this hobby.
I'm on my second stint with Southern Girls Challenge and just love the inspiration and comradery of my team mates. I tend to be a Clean and Simple card maker.  I’m looking forward to sharing my passion and encourage other’s as well.

Hi there, I'm Wendy, Wends to my friends, I am known in blogland by the handle 'Crafty Kiwi Mama', which hints at my homeland, New Zealand. I lived in London, UK for 13 years, so chose that name to reflect my connection to New Zealand whilst I was living abroad. I’ve been home now for almost 5 years and live in Auckland our biggest city with my lovely hubby and 2 gorgeous kiddos. I've always been crafty and I've always loved paper craft.
When I was newly married, I started making my own Christmas cards and gift cards for friends. Looking back, they were very basic and I like to think I've grown a little bit in my card designs since then! I have experimented with a mix of CAS and fussy designs. I love to try a little bit of both and let the images lead me in either direction. I’ve always loved pretty paper and have a ‘stroke only’ stash! I can lose hours in a craft and paper store and a whole day in my craft room!
Part of my joy in this adventure has been discovering amazing artists who design for the card making industry. I love to hand colour images and create cards with these. I've been an avid Promarker fan for years, and I'm finding it hard to let them go, but I'm starting to explore using copics and enjoying the journey. I’ve tried distress inks and watercolour mediums, but I keep coming back to alcohol inks. I love the rich colours in this medium.
I have served on 6 design teams and remain on 4 currently. I started designing for the SGC in April 2014 nearly 4 years ago and I couldn’t be happier designing with this awesome bunch of girlies. We are crafter’s from all over the world and bring our own unique spin to this fabulous crafty hobby. I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting our blog mama Lou in person, even though we live at opposite ends of our North Island! There really is something special about crafty friends!
I am responsible for the Winner's Posts here at Southern Girls on the alternate week to the challenges. I really enjoy doing this, as there's nothing nicer than making another crafter's day. Thanks for visiting Southern Girls today and reading my wee bio blurb.
We have some super fun challenges lined up this year and some amazing sponsors, so come join us and be part of the Southern Girls crafty adventures.
 Hugs, Wends xoxo

Hello everyone, I am Gayatri from India. I am a stay at home mom. Mother to two wonderful boys who are my backbone as well as critics too.
I started paper crafting 4 years back. I started with making quilled greeting cards and then slowly forayed into CAS, layered cards, scrapbook albums and few Mixed Media too. I love making my own flowers. I love decoupage too. I am so happy and thrilled to be a part of SGC Design Team.
Gayatri's Blog -

My name is Jeanine du Plessis, I am a 30 year old stay at home mom to one.
My days consist of changing diapers, singing “old mac Donald had a farm”, playing on the carpet and fighting for naptimes during which I love to get my fingers full of paint and manage my youtube channel.
Born and raised in South Africa, married for 6 years, we moved to New Zealand about 2 years ago. I had my daughter Lily here in Auckland - New Zealand, she is now 16 months old. I used to work in accounting, doing payroll and handling HR, but it didn’t leave much time to do art. I only recently, in the last 3 years started doing more of what makes me happy, which is art ART ArT! Since being a full time stay at home mom, creating art has become part of my daily life and who I am. I grew up with a creative mom and therefore have always loved art, drawing, painting or creating something even if it’s just cutting up old jeans to make a duvet. I just love keeping busy with crafty projects, its keeps me sane. My art style is messy, fun, raw and unapologetic. I like to sometimes just sit in front of a blank page without the faintest idea of what it will become, and just get some paint down. I don’t believe there are any mistakes in art, only lessons to be learned. Inspiring people to create is my main goal. If I put a simple easy and quick piece up, people love it, they feel inspired, like they are also able to create something similar, and that to me is the real reason I share my art. To get people inspired! I draw inspiration from all around me, it could even be from my daughters dress or something as simple as the night sky.
I started my Youtube channel called “My Arty Heart” about two years ago - just for fun. I loved watching videos about art and got into art journaling and learned so much from other youtubers that I felt inspired to create my own channel and the response has been tremendous. I still can’t believe that people like to watch me have fun.
I also have a second Youtube channel, where I do faith journaling, but I haven’t had enough time to invest in it, although one day I might. Its called “My Faithful Heart” I recently got contacted by the editor of Mixed up Magazine, where my art and projects now gets featured bi-monthly. My first featuring was in issue 9 (Oct/Nov) for 2017 and I have continued to be a part of the magazine since. I wouldn’t say that I am a professional or even an artist, I am just someone who finds the time in each day to create art, try out new techniques, something I have seen on youtube or journal my thoughts. Some pieces are better than others, and sometimes a piece get abandoned or tossed aside, but sometimes ... a piece is amazing and inspiring and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That’s the feeling I chase.
